We connect global partners, young experts, and Nepalese youth to create sustainable tech and education solutions. Together, we can grow Nepal’s innovation ecosystem and build a brighter future.
Why Nepal?
Nepal is a land of both possibilities and pressing needs. 1 in 5 people in Nepal still live in poverty, and millions lack safe water and sanitation. Every year, floods and landslides disrupt lives, making Nepal one of the world’s most climate-vulnerable countries.
At the same time, Nepal has incredible natural resources and is one of the youngest nations in Asia, with a median age of just 24. This generation is ready to lead, innovate, and create change. At Diyalo, we believe in unlocking that potential by turning local challenges into opportunities for resilient, community-driven solutions.

Our young experts are volunteers between the age of 18 and 30 years old who are engineering students or young professionals. By connecting young experts with youth from Nepal, they can share knowledge but also learn from culture differences and similarities. This youth-youth collaboration creates an unique and open connection that optimizes the learning experience for both sides. Because of this, we encourage young experts who are willing to share their expertise to volunteer with us!
Knowledge partner
The knowledge partners from countries such as the Netherlands, Germany and the US, are an indispensable link in the process of supporting Nepal. They provide us with the technological expertise that is requested by our local Nepalese partners. Therefore we are looking for knowledge institutes or companies that are interested in becoming knowledge partners.

In Nepal, newborn hypothermia is one of the leading causes of infant death. Families in rural areas often rely on unsafe methods, such as light bulbs or coal fires, to keep babies warm.
To change this, engineer Mahip KC and the National Innovation Center developed Nyano Nani, a safe, affordable baby warmer made in Nepal for Nepal. Since 2020, Diyalo Foundation has supported this innovation:
- 113 baby warmers delivered to hospitals and health posts.
- Improved design, heating systems, and user interface.
- Business development support to scale production.
Nyano Nani is proof of what’s possible when local ingenuity meets global collaboration – saving lives and strengthening Nepal’s health system.
